ਏ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਹੁ ਮੇਰਿਹੋ ਸਾਚੈ ਸੁਨਣੈ ਨੋ ਪਠਾਏ ॥
ਸਾਚੈ ਸੁਨਣੈ ਨੋ ਪਠਾਏ ਸਰੀਰਿ ਲਾਏ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਸਤਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
ਐ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੰਨੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਠਾਏ (ਲਾਏ) ਗਏ ਹੋ (ਸੁਣਨਾ ਹੈ ਸੱਚ, ਉਹਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਾਂ, ਹੁਕਮ, ਨਾਮ, ਬਾਣੀ)।ਸੱਚੇ (ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨ ਲਈ ਲਾਏ ਗਏ ਹੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸੱਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ: ਬਾਣੀ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦਸਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹੀ ਸੁਣੋ।
O my ears, you have been created to hear the Truth (About Him, His praise, His dictates, His Name, Scriptures).You were created to hear the Truth (God and about Him),and listen to the True Bani: the Scriptures that tell about God.
